Project introduction


Hello and welcome to this amazing adventure!

My name is Ramón and I'm developing an RPG. The project has had an intense 3 months development period up to this point and has a vertical slice up and running.  The game takes inspiration  from the whole RPG spectrum and its subgenres, though a strong emphasis is made in strategy and tactics. I would name Final Fantasy XII, Warcraft 3 Rexxar's Campaing and Baldur's Gate as big inspirations.

The pillar concepts for this game: 
  • Tactical Combat - Units act based on a dynamic turn system were each one has its own Action meter that starts full and automatically deplets itself. When it reaches 0 the unit can perform a combat action, like melee attack, heal, energy bullet and so on. So there are no cooldown for each ability. Each unit has a melee attack and 2 slots available for special abilities that can be selected and configured and they are unlocked through item pickups ingame.
  • Environmental Puzzle Solving - lock and door systems that modulate the progress through the stages in the style of Metroidvanias.
  • Artistic exploration - This project is an artistic outlet were I explore and express themes and subjects that drive my enthusiasm.

A dark horizon brings the cataclysm to an end.

The light of Shairza rises once again from the east. 

Yet, with it, comes the new face of the void. 

Unspoken, missed through the ages, Silent and diligent.

 Ever waiting for its rebirth. 

From the mud and dirt he emerges.

Now bones and blood. 

The labyrinth of the soul dissolves.

  His chest endowed in the most potent flame. 

His fractured mirror shows the pit within.

A void.

A point.

A mission.

A little bit about myself 

I have traversed my adult life as a professional illustrator. I have thoroughly studied, practiced and taught drawing basics such as Human Anatomy, 3d construction through techincal Perspective and Color theory and application. In parallel to that I have developed games since I was a teen and had more than 10 years developing and coding with Game Maker Studio, wich is the engine for this project.
